Jason Marcheck -

Mr. Marcheck began his career at the consulting firm John Staurulakis, Inc. (JSI) where he conducted financial feasibility analysis and pricing strategies for clients entering the long distance resale market. While at JSI, Mr. Marcheck tested the validity of FCC proxy models used to determine levels of universal service fund (USF) support. The conclusions drawn by Mr. Marcheck were used in the preparation of testimony before state regulatory boards and FCC filings on behalf of JSI clients.
Mr. Marcheck then joined The Strategis Group - a prestigious Washington D.C. based research firm and consultancy - as a market analyst responsible for covering the emerging broadband market. In this capacity Mr. Marcheck wrote several reports on topics covering DSL, cable modems, last-mile fiber connectivity, and the metro area network fiber optic market. During his tenure, he also served as an expert panelist and featured presenter at broadband trade shows. Now, in addition to his role with The Confluence Research Group, Mr. Marcheck also serves as a Senior Analyst of Wireless Infrastructure for Current Analysis.
In addition to his expertise in the telecommunications industry, Mr. Marcheck has performed research and economic analysis for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) related to the effect of block acquisitions on the equity returns of publicly traded companies. He has also supplied research and analysis related to the construction of minor league baseball stadiums to Cal Ripken Jr.’s organization Ripken Management and Design.
Throughout his career Mr. Marcheck has been quoted extensively in newspapers such as The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Bloomberg News (online), and in trade publications such as Telephony, Lightwave, Outside Plant, and others. In addition, Mr. Marcheck has authored feature articles and columns in Telephony, Outside Plant, and Lightwave Magazines, and won an award for Excellence in Editorial Contribution as a columnist for Broadband Properties Magazine.
He received his undergraduate degree from The University of Pittsburgh, and a MBA from The Johns Hopkins University.
